The bathroom is done for the brownstone dollhouse I'm working on

I tried to make the bathroom into a Nemo type theme, on the walls are pictures of Nemo and his friends.

Here is another view of the bathroom.

This is another view of the bathroom. As you can see the bath tub is already being used. I have four more rooms to go in this house.  Tomorrow will be the babies room.

This is the second bedroom in the brownstone I'm working on Wendy's brothers room Peter Pan theme

This is a ship bed I made for the brownstone house Peter Pan theme room

These are some of the items you need to start the bed.  A coaster, dowels, a bottom to a wooden box square shaped long dowels.

The first thing you do is take the square shaped long dowels and make two long ones for the top of the bed and cut two short pieces for the bottom.  Hot glue these pieces on.

Next you will take the coaster and measure the width between the top of the beds square dowels.  This coaster will go between the square dowels on top.

As you can see in this picture I hot glued the cut coaster between the square dowels.

This is what the back will look like at this point.

I then added some wooden round balls to the top of the headboard area as seen in the picture.  I also added some taller wooden decorative pieces to the tops of the bottom dowels.  These need to be tall so the ships sail can be installed as you will see.

I then added some little wooden pieces on the bottom for the bed feet.

In this picture you can see I painted the bed and also added some dowels to the bottom footboard area.  This cross will be used for the sail for the boat.  I cut out some notches out of the dowels so they could fit together better sort of like lincoln log style wood.  I also cut a square piece of dowel and notch it to secure the cross beam to the bed.

I took a thin piece of wood to make the mattress for the bed.  The wood will need to be cut so it will fit over the wooden box.

You then take some batting cut a little bit bigger than the wooden piece, then cut a piece of felt material a little larger than the batting material.

As you can see in this picture I made a blanket out of red felt and added some yellow felt to the top.  I also took a piece of white and made a sail and attached it to the cross beam.  The pirates flag is made with a piece of white felt, I also went online and downloaded a pirates flag and shrunk it down and glued it to a flag which I made out of felt

I wanted to show you this.  This is the easiest way to make pillows.  Take the nylon type sponges that you can buy in the dollar store they come three in the package.  Sew a line across the sponge as shown, make sure you sew two lines in between each pillow line so you can cut the pillows out in long pieces and not have the sponge fall apart.  After cutting the pieces out long ways sew two lines on each piece to separate two pillows.  To make a pillow cover take felt and cut a long piece and wrap it around the pillow and sew a stitch around the felt.  The next blog is what this bedroom looks like now.

I finished one room in the Brownstone dollhouse I'm working on Peter Pan theme

I decided to use a Peter Pan theme for this room, I made a bed for Wendy which is on the right.  On the floor is Hook in the alligators mouth.  Tinker bell is on the back wall.  There is also Peter Pans shadow on the back wall.  Peter Pan is sitting on the steps by the window.  I also put a solar light fixture in the back window.

Another picture of the room, in the corner in the back you will see something light up in one of the photos, this is a little Tinker Bell type house that lights up.

If you look up on the wall over the bed there is three pictures one is Wendy, Michael and John.  These are the three children.  The next blog I put on will be Michael and John's room.

You can see Peter Pan sitting on the steps by the window.  In the corner is the little Tinker bell house I mentioned earlier.  I bought this little house in the clearance section in Walmart.  Tinker bell is on the wall.

You can see Hook in the alligators mouth in this picture.

It's hard to see what this looks like, this is Wendy's bed I made.

This is the bed without the blanket.  Why not make each room in a dollhouse a theme!

Making a solar light fixture out of a soda bottle

These are the items you will need.  The top off a soda bottle, any color that you want the solar light to be.  This one is from a sprite bottle. You also need a 97 cent solar light from Walmart, and a cap off a milk gallon, make sure it's the soft cap not the hard one.

The first thing to do is slide your solar light down into the soda top with the stem hanging out the bottle.

Then take the soda cap and put a little hole in the middle of it and make some slits out the sides of the hole.  Make sure the slits are not long you need a tight fitting cap.  Slide the cap up the stem this holds the bottle top in place.  Next picture you will see what it looks like lit up.

This is the item lit up. Next picture is another view of the lights.

These make great lights in a garden.  You can even use a water bottle or any other type of plastic bottle.  You can even use a clear bottle and have the kids paint them and light them up.  I hope this give you some ideas be creative!  You could even spray the inside of the bottle with glow in the dark paint (which they sell in Home Depot) use at least four coats of it, it makes the light brighter at night, glow in the dark!

A brownstone dollhouse I'm redoing

This is the dollhouse I will be redoing, I also have pictures of the inside.

This is one of the rooms. I'm going to be gutting it down.

This is another room.

This is the bathroom area which I will be enlarging, you know you need a bigger bathroom.

In this picture to the right is a small pantry, which I will be taking out.

This is the kitchen area, messy!

This is the parlor area.

In this picture you can see what I did to the front of this dollhouse.  First of all I replaced the bricks that were missing and fixed the ones that were loose.  I took off all the shutters on the inside of the dollhouse that closed up all the windows.  I repainted the house and made shutters for the front.  On the roof you can see the attic windows I added Peter Pan and Wendy into the windows. I also added some trim work.

In this picture you can see one of the attic windows.

In this picture you can see the other window.  My next posting you will see some of the progress.
