Dishes for a dollhouse made from poker chips

I used an engraver to make a design on the chips.

After engraving a design on the chips I smothered gold paint all over the chips and wiped off the gold paint some of the paint will stay in the grooves.

Making a dollhouse bed from two different wood boxes

These are the two boxes that I used.  One of the boxes opens up with a hinge, the other is just a bottom piece of a box.  The first thing I did was take off the hinges off the one box, the top of this box will be the headboard of a bed.  The bottom of the box will be a bookcase. The other box will be the bed frame.

In this picture on the left is the bookcase, I took the pieces of wood that were on the inside and turned them into shelves. The decorative pieces came off a wooden hand fan. There is also lace on the top edge.  On the right is the bed which still needs a mattress and blanket and pillow, I will post it when it is finished.  I used a piece off a necklace for a decoration, pieces of a wooden fan and lace.

How to make tea cups a plates for your dollhouse from battery candles, poker chips

This is a battery operated candle which you will be using.

First take the bottom off the candle.  Then take out the metal on the inside, I used plyiers and a pick.

On the side of the candle you will see this which is the part that holds on the suction cup.  I used a razor knife to take it off. This will be the handle for your tea cup.

Here are two different kind of chips, one is a poker chip and the other is a bingo chip.

I painted both to match the tea cups.

This is what the finished cup and saucer look like.  You can make the cups and saucers any color you want for your dollhouse.  You could also add stickers on the plate and cup if you want. The bingo chip can be a dessert dish.

Making two minature pots for a dollhouse out of a baby formula scooper

This is the type of scooper I am talking about.

Here's what the scooper looks like to start off.

In this picture you can see I cut the scooper in half through the middle.  I also cut the handle in half.  The next thing you need to do is glue the other handle on the other piece that doesn't have a handle yet.

This is what it will look like upside down with the handle glued on.

You will need to add a piece of foam on the bottom of the pot.

This is what both the pots will look like.  Time to spray paint them with a copper color.

Here they are, you can make them any color you would want them.

How to make a decorative piece that lights up with a solar light for your dollhouse

In this picture you will see pieces from a hose connection and little glass balloons.

The first thing you do is glue the balloon into the hose connection piece.

Next you need the top of a solar light piece which you can buy for 97 cents in Walmart.

In this picture you can see it lit up with the solar light.

This is a green one.

Here's a red one.  I use solar lights for a lot of different items.

Making a medicine cabinet for a dollhouse out of a shaver cartridge holder

This is an empty shaver cartridge that holds the cartridges for a shaver.

You need to cut out a piece of cardboard the size of the catridge, this is going to be the door.

You then use some duct tape and tape the one side to hold the cardboard to the catridge, this is the door hinge for the medicine cabinet.

Cut some strips of cardboard which will be used for trim work.

Glue pieces of the strip onto the door.

These decorative circles were cut off a tissue box, I use them for different crafts. I'm cutting one in half for the medicine cabinet.

This is the medicine cabinet painted and the decorative circle added.  In the center you will see an oval looking mirror.  What this mirror is is:  I use old DVDs or old CDs that I don't want.  I usually buy ones from garage sales cheap with songs on them that no one wants.  I then boil some water on the stove in a pot and use pliers to hold the DVD/ cd in the water so it gets soft.  I then cut it with kitchen scissors, if it starts getting hard I dunk it again.  As you can see it looks like a mirror.  You can also make mirrors for on dollhouse walls this way.  

This is the inside of the medicine cabinet.  Use your imagination, the ideas are endless.

Beds for old house made from wood coaster and wood frame

These are the wood frames you will need to make beds for your dollhouse.

These are the wooden type coasters.

First thing is to apply any type of picture onto the coaster on the side that does not have the cork.  These pictures I got off the back of outdated calendars.  On the backs of calendars they have displayed in minature size the pictures that are for each month.  I love using these pictures for my projects.  You can also frame these pictures for your dollhouses.  I use popsiclesticks to make frames.

Next glue the coaster to the wood frame for a headboard.

Next you will need a mattress for the bed. You need a piece of cardboard and a piece of felt.  Cut the cardboard to the size you will need and hot glue the felt to it.

This is what it will look like when you glue them together.  In this picture You will see the front and back.

The next thing is to glue the covered cardboard onto the wood frame.

On the underside of the bed you need to glue some wooden beads for the legs of the bed.

This is what the beds looked like, now all I need is blankets and pillows.

I like to make the matching pillows and blankets and curtains from material table cloths.  I cut them up as you will see.

What doll wouldn't want to cuddle up in this bed?  There are many types of material be creative!  Make it unique.

Make a minature lamp for a dollhouse with a toothpaste tube

I needed to make a lamp today for a dollhouse. I used a toothpaste cap and the area that the cap goes on. I first take the part that the cap screws on and cut it off, this will be the base of my lamp. The cap on top which is blue gets glued onto the base as you can see in the photos. You might want to spray paint the base before gluing them together. I like the brass look on this lamp. Next take a piece of material you will be making slits on the bottom edges so it fits nicely. the top area of the material I also make slits so I can fold the material to the inside of the cap, make sure you glue it down to the inside. I also used a juice container ring and the stopper to cover the top opening where the material was glued down into the top area. I spray painted the stopper gold the ring I left white. The ring I glued on the top to make it look decorative and also added beads to the top. You can use beads, lace anything to make it decorative.

On top is the cap, the bottom is the part that the cap screws on to. I spray painted the bottom part before gluing them together.

This is the material with the slits on the bottom.

This is the bottom glued down and slits in the top area that gets glued to the inside of the cap.

In this picture you can see the little stopper that I painted gold and glued it down to hide the material that has been glued down to the inside.
