How to make beds for Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs

In this picture you can see that you need to cut two pieces of wood round on the tops and a flat bottom for the head and footboards. You will also need to cut a piece of wood that attaches the headboard to the footboard.  Make sure you attach the mattress about a quarter inch from the bottom of the head and footboards.  Using a piece of cardboard, measure a size that will fit on top of the bed frame to make a mattress.  Take the piece of cardboard and hotglue a piece of batting material on it.  Then take some material and cover over the batting, glue down the material to the back, then glue the whole mattress down to the frame.

I used the figure to make the beds the proper size.

Then I paint the frame brown. That's the color it is in the movie, next is to write the names on the footboards. I also added designs to the head and foodboards. Use a fine sharpee for this, it's easier.

I used images off the internet for the designs that I drew on the beds. Use your imagination and it will soar!

Making Andy's bed from Toy Story Part II

If you haven't seen the 1st part, it's here. It will show you how I made the frame.

I glued a piece of the balsa wood on both the head and footboard.

Then I painted the whole bed dark brown.

You then can take a piece of cardboard, a little smaller than the inside area of the mattress, box spring area.  Once you cut the cardboard, you hot glue on a piece of stuffing material. Batting is the name of the material used for the cushioning.

Then you cover it with a piece of mattress cover material.

Here it is with the mattress glued down to the frame.

You then take the material that you are going to make a blanket out of and cut the size you need, hot glue the sides together, unless you want to sew it together. I used an old hand towel.

Now to make a pillow! I made it out of some batting material and put a piece of material covering it.

This is what the finished bed looks like.

This is another view. Use your imagination and it will soar!
